He Can Beat You and Then Come To Your Birthday

Is this acceptable?

A while ago I got into a facebook dispute ver the now dated but still disturbing collaboration between Chris Brown and Rihanna. Apparently Rihanna felt like Chris was the appropriate person to put on her Birthday Cake track because reconnecting with men after they beat you to a pulp is all the rage these days.

While Rihanna clearly wants to encourage more women to forgive and forget, I was shocked at the women who vehemently supported this collaboration under the guise of forgiveness. While my position made it clear that I don’t forget easily, their position highlighted to me that a lot of women just don’t know their worth. While it may seem forward, I would arguably assert that most women who believe this collaboration was appropriate are or have battled self esteem issues themselves. Ladies, domestic violence is NEVER okay. You’re worth more.
